When are 2018 member auditions? The 2018 audition dates are Nov 17-19 (battery only), Dec 1-3 (all sections), and Dec 15-17 (all sections). Locations will be in the Mobile, AL area and announced just prior to camp.

What is the predicted tour schedule for 2018? Southwind wil tour from approximately July 6 until August 10, 2017 finishing at DCI Open Class Championships and DCI Finals in Indianapolis, IN.
What brand of instruments does the corps play? Our hornline plays on KING marching brass. Horns are supplied to the members by the corps. Our battery is sponsored by TAMA Marching Percussion and plays on TAMA snares, tenors, and bass drums, uses Vic Firth sticks and mallets, and REMO heads. Our front ensemble uses ADAMS marimbas and vibraphones.

May I attend auditions even if I do not plan on joining the corps? ABSOLUTELY YES! Our audition camps are very educational. You will learn about life in a drum corps and also pick up new exercises and techniques to use in your own marching band.
What is the approximate cost for a member in Southwind for 2018? Member tuition for 2018 will be $2700 for rookies and $2500 for vets for the summer. That fee is all inclusive and covers instruments, instruction, travel, food, SW apparel, and more. LOW on cash? No problem! Dues payments are paid in installments, supported by fundraisers, AND are tax deductible for donors.
I'm low on cash but still want to march Southwind. Will there be fundraiser opportunities for members? Yes. We will have several fundraisers AND a donation sheet for our members. Financial assistance is available for those who ask and make an effort in the corps.
My parents are skeptical about me joining a drum corps. May they speak with a staff member? YES. Our recruiting team will be at marching contest throughout the Southeast this Fall.
