Cathy Chandler is the EMR Strategies Coordinator for Evident, based in Mobile, AL, where she helps design software to maintain electronic health records for hospitals all over North America. Cathy is a 1996 graduate of Jacksonville State University, where she majored in English and was a member of the JSU Marching Southerners and other percussion ensembles. Cathy is a member of Sigma Alpha Iota music fraternity, Omicron Delta Kappa leadership fraternity and Sigma Tau Delta English honor society. She is a veteran of the 1990, 1991, 1992, & 1994 front ensembles for Southwind Drum & Bugle Corps and was a member of the winning 1991 Individual & Ensemble Mixed Ensemble. Bill Bauman is a founding member and marching tenor player from Southwind's first season in 1981. Since then, he has been avid fan of drum corps. Bill is a Lead Visual Information Specialist at the U.S. Army Combat Readiness Center in Fort Rucker, AL. His past positions with the Department of Defense include Specialist/Producer roles for NORAD, US Space Command, and Eglin AFB. He is a team leader with experience managing +3 million in budgets and equipment inventories. Linda Gooden is the treasurer for SWAA and a 1992-94 color guard veteran of Southwind Drum & Bugle Corps. Linda holds a Bachelor of Science in Commerce and Business Administration majoring in Accounting from the Mississippi University for Women and is the Cost Analyst for the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Southwind is operated under the guidance of Southwind Alumni Association (SWAA). The Board oversees the financial and business operations and stability of Southwind. SWAA is a 501c3 non-profit organization.
Melissa Lavey is a resident of Gulfport, MS where she is a Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery at Memorial Hospital with previous experience in Cardiac Services. Musically, Melissa has spent time playing French horn in the University of Alabama Concert Band and Kennesaw State University Wind Ensemble, and singing alto in the University of Alabama Women's Chorale and the USM Gulf Coast Civic Chorale. Jeremy Johnson is a 1993, 1995-96 veteran of Southwind Drum & Bugle Corps on contra bass. He earned a Bachelor of Music and Masters of Music Education from Valdosta State University. Jeremy is entering his 15th year in education. He was previously the band director at Macon County High School in Montezuma, GA and Coffee Middle School in Douglas, GA.
